NURUL Alyani Jamil was introduced to lawn bowls by her late father - a former hockey international.
Her interest grew from Jamil Karim's influence who passed away in 2016.
But Nurul's passion for the game would not end there.
The breakthrough came from - SMK Sultan Abu Bakar in Kuantan.
From an "Anak Angkat" Project School for lawn bowls - an initiative of the Malaysia Lawn Bowls Federation (PLBM).
"This was my stepping stone before moving on to the next level," she said.
"I hope more promising talents will emerge from schools," said Nurul, who will be completing here Sports Science degree at UiTM this year.
Bowls Malaysia have introduced the 'Jack-To-School' programme to promote and unearth more talents.
Nurul, 32, is now making waves with the national team at World Championships.
She has won multiple gold, silver, and bronze medals in Asia and Oceania.
Her career highlights include a bronze at the 2023 World Champion of Champions in Australia.
Nurul will compete at the inaugural 'World Cup 2025' in Kuala Lumpur next month.
"I have a good feeling about this World Cup. I am nervous but in a positive sense".
Nurul will compete in the singles and pairs event with Emma Firyana Saroji.
This year, Nurul and Emma won silver at the Australian Open in the pairs event.⬛
